PEPS – Program for Early Parent Support – small, volunteer –led early parenting groups. Babies under 5 months. Fee involved but scholarships are available. Meets weekly for 12 weeks.
Postpartum Support International of Washington – a great website! The phone is a warm line answered by mothers who have also experienced PPMD. Great for support and hand-picked referrals.
Listening Mothers – professionally led support and parenting skill building groups. Small fee, scholarships available.
Bringing Baby Home – This is a fantastic workshop by the Seattle based Gottman Institute. It is about how to thrive while adjusting to your new life as parents. There is a fee and scholarships for this workshop.
ICAN – International Cesarean Awareness Network – Free local support groups, advocacy and information.
Open Arms Perinatal Services – OAPS offers services to pregnant women who would otherwise find themselves alone or with little support. They provide an array of services according to the needs of women and their families, including prenatal support and parenting education, continuous emotional and physical support throughout labor and delivery, and assistance in the first six weeks after delivery. OAPS is committed to providing services that are culturally and linguistically appropriate, providing bilingual and bicultural doulas when possible. All of their doulas receive training in cultural competence, communication, and advocacy.
